About Salú pa Tur
Fundashon Salú pa Tur runs a free primary healthcare clinic in Landhuis Kas Chikitu for all uninsured migrants. An estimated number of 30.000 migrants reside on the island of Curaçao. More than 6.000 of them have received one or more free services at Salú pa Tur since the clinic was opened in July 2019.
Although most patients are refugees from Venezuela, the population is diverse and includes people from countries such as Colombia, Jamaica, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic. Services that are provided by the clinic include care for chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, consultations for children with a pediatrician, pregnancy check-ups and limited funding for secondary care and medication.
When required, the outreach team can provide house visits to the most vulnerable patients. Salú pa Tur occasionally receives material donations such as clothing or hygiene and new mother kits, which are distributed all throughout Curaçao with the help of a network of other local organizations. Although our provision of medical care is limited to uninsured migrants, we do our best to help people from Curaçao by distributing these donations.
